Understanding Service Bundles

Audience: End Users, CRM Agents Last Updated: 2026-01-29

Overview

When you activate a service in Staqr (like a Mobile plan or Internet connection), you're actually activating a service bundle - a collection of related services that work together to provide complete functionality.

Why Service Bundles?

  • Complete Solutions: Mobile service automatically includes SIM card, phone number, and data
  • No Missing Pieces: You can't accidentally forget critical components
  • Automatic Management: Cancelling your plan automatically cancels related services

This guide explains what's included in each service type and how to manage your services.

Mobile Service Bundles

What's Included Automatically?

When you activate a Mobile plan, you automatically receive:

  1. Phone Number (MSISDN) - Your mobile phone number
  2. SIM Card - Physical SIM card for your device (shipped to your address)
  3. Data Allowance - Base data plan (e.g., 25GB per month)

You don't need to request these separately - they're included automatically.

Optional Add-Ons

You can choose to add:

  • Voicemail - Voicemail service (Basic or Visual Voicemail)
  • Extra Voice Minutes - Additional voice calling beyond base plan
  • Messaging - SMS/MMS messaging service
  • International Roaming - Use your phone internationally
  • Extra Data - Data bundles beyond your base allowance
  • Premium Number - Upgrade to Gold or Silver phone number tier
  • eSIM - Use eSIM instead of physical SIM (compatible devices only)
  • Device - Add mobile handset or tablet to your plan

Example: Standard Mobile Bundle

Mobile Plan ($49/month)
├── ✅ Phone Number (0412 345 678)
├── ✅ Physical SIM Card
├── ✅ 25GB Data Allowance
├── ➕ Voicemail ($5/month) - OPTIONAL
└── ➕ International Roaming ($10/month) - OPTIONAL

Total: $49/month (or $64/month with Voicemail + Roaming)

Internet Service Bundles

What's Included Automatically?

When you activate an NBN Internet plan, you automatically receive:

  1. NBN Access - Network connectivity to your address
  2. NBN AVC - Access Virtual Circuit (technical NBN component - no separate charge)
  3. Data Allowance - Base data plan (e.g., 100GB per month)

You don't need to request these separately - they're included automatically.

Optional Add-Ons

You can choose to add:

  • Modem - Rent a modem from us (or use your own)
  • Static IP Address - Static IPv4 address for your connection
  • Speed Boost - Temporary speed enhancement
  • Priority Support - Premium technical support

Data Plan Upgrades

Choose ONE data tier (included in base price or upgrade):

  • 50GB Plan - Lower tier (cheaper)
  • 100GB Plan - Standard tier (included)
  • 250GB Plan - Higher tier (upgrade)
  • Unlimited Plan - No data limits (premium upgrade)

You can only have ONE data tier active at a time.

Example: Standard NBN Bundle

NBN Plan ($69/month)
├── ✅ NBN Access
│ └── ✅ NBN AVC (nested component)
├── ✅ 100GB Data Allowance
├── ➕ Modem Rental ($10/month) - OPTIONAL
└── ➕ Static IP ($15/month) - OPTIONAL

Total: $69/month (or $94/month with Modem + Static IP)

VoIP Service Bundles

What's Included Automatically?

When you activate a VoIP plan, you automatically receive:

  1. VoIP Number - Your VoIP phone number
  2. VoIP Calling Plan - VoIP data/calling allowance

Optional Add-Ons

You can choose to add:

  • Analog Telephone Adapter (ATA) - Connect analog phones to VoIP
  • Voicemail - Voicemail service
  • Call Forwarding - Forward calls to another number
  • Call Waiting - Receive calls while on a call
  • SIP Trunk - SIP trunk for business VoIP
  • Auto Attendant - Automated call routing
  • Call Recording - Record calls

Landline Service Bundles

What's Included Automatically?

When you activate a Landline plan, you automatically receive:

  1. Landline Number - Your landline phone number

Optional Add-Ons

You can choose to add:

  • Landline Features - Call features bundle
  • Caller ID - See who's calling
  • Voicemail - Voicemail service
  • Call Forwarding - Forward calls to another number
  • Call Return - Return last call (*69)
  • Three-Way Calling - Conference calling

How Service Bundles Work

Activation

When you activate a service:

  1. Parent Service Activates - Main service (e.g., Mobile Plan)
  2. MANDATORY Components Activate Automatically - SIM, Number, Data
  3. OPTIONAL Components Activate on Request - Voicemail, Roaming, etc.

You'll receive:

  • Confirmation email with service details
  • Shipment tracking for physical items (SIM, Modem)
  • Activation timeline (some services activate immediately, others within 1-3 days)

Cancellation (Termination)

When you cancel a service:

  1. Parent Service Cancels - Main service (e.g., Mobile Plan)
  2. ALL Components Cancel Automatically - SIM, Number, Data, Voicemail, etc.

You don't need to cancel each component separately - cancelling the main service cancels everything.

⚠️ Warning: Cancelling your Mobile plan will also cancel your phone number, SIM card, data, and all add-ons. This action cannot be undone.

Suspension (Temporary Hold)

When you suspend a service:

  1. Parent Service Suspends - Main service stops working
  2. ALL Components Suspend Automatically - Number, SIM, Data, etc.

You keep your phone number and plan configuration, but service is temporarily inactive.

Reactivation

When you reactivate a suspended service:

  1. Parent Service Reactivates - Main service resumes
  2. ALL Components Reactivate Automatically - Everything comes back online

Common Questions

Can I activate a service without the automatic components?

No. Automatic components (MANDATORY) are required for the service to function. For example:

  • Mobile service MUST have SIM card + phone number + data
  • NBN service MUST have NBN Access + NBN AVC + data

These components are included in your base price and cannot be removed.

Can I have multiple phone number tiers?

No. You can only have ONE phone number tier active at a time:

  • Standard Number (included)
  • OR Silver Number (upgrade)
  • OR Gold Number (premium upgrade)

If you want to upgrade from Standard to Gold, the Standard number will be replaced.

What happens to my add-ons if I cancel my plan?

All add-ons cancel automatically. For example:

  • Cancel Mobile plan → Voicemail, International Roaming, Extra Data also cancel
  • Cancel NBN plan → Static IP, Modem rental, Speed Boost also cancel

You cannot keep add-ons without the main service.

Can I suspend my service instead of cancelling?

Yes. Suspension keeps your service configuration (including phone number) but stops billing and service. You can reactivate later without losing your number or configuration.

  • Suspension: Temporary (can reactivate)
  • Cancellation: Permanent (cannot undo, phone number released)

Why can't I add Static IP to my NBN plan?

Static IP requires NBN Access to be active. If you're seeing an error, check:

  1. Is your NBN Access service active? (Should be automatic with NBN plan)
  2. Contact support if NBN Access is missing

Why did Internet activation ask for Number Registry fields?

This is a legacy bug (fixed in Phase 41). Internet services should NOT require Number Registry fields. If you're seeing NR_MSISDN or similar fields:

  1. Contact Staqr support immediately
  2. This indicates your system hasn't been updated to Phase 41

Correct behaviour: Internet activation only needs address and plan selection.
